June 2018 - Sebastian Durán at the Aldeburgh Festival
Sebastian has been selected for the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme of 2018 at the Aldeburgh Festival in Snape Maltings, Suffolk, United Kingdom.
The festival was founded by Benjamin Britten, Peter Pears and Eric Crozier in 1948 and has since become a world-renowned meeting place for artists and audiences alike.
He will be participating in 'The 21st Century Singer' course between the 10th-16th of June, and at the end of an intensive week of masterclasses and private coaching, he and the other participants on this course present their final recital.
Description of 'The 21st Century Singer' course:
"A stellar trio of tutors come together with exceptional young artists to examine what it takes to 'make it' as a singer and artist in the 21st century. John Fisher is a legendary coach and Head of Music at the Metropolitan Opera House and Julia Faulkner's list of students reads like the 'who's who' of international opera houses. Together with acclaimed bass and Britten-Pears alumnus Matthew Rose they offer insights into the journey from young artist to the international stage."
